RISING S-STEM

Addressing gaps in rural STEM education research and focusing on supporting rural, low-income, academically talented students by fostering collaboration among Rural Serving Institutions

Do you have an interest in rural student success in higher education?

Funded by the National Science Foundation’s S-STEM program, this project addresses gaps in rural STEM education research and focuses on supporting rural, low-income, academically talented students by fostering collaboration among Rural Serving Institutions through the RISING Hub.

Are you looking to connect with other S-STEM faculty to develop research and disseminate lessons?

The RISING Hub will support research on belonging in STEM and its impact on rural, low-income students’ graduation rates and workforce entry, while also investigating student persistence and career pathways through faculty network groups and capacity-building activities.

Can you commit time to meeting and learning with collaborators and mentors?

To broaden its impact, the project will share effective interventions tailored to the unique challenges faced by rural students in STEM education and career pathways.
